Library Test Kitchen: Public Displays of Affection (part one of three) In-Person
Early-modern scholarship and research happened both in private and through friendship. From scholars writing letters, sending expensive and scarce books, and long pilgrimages to visit one another's libraries?
How does that change in an age of the email attachment or re-tweet? Should information be private? What dictactes who is able to access information?
In this session, we'll explore both information comunities and instances of information scarcity, critique forms of information sharing and restriction, and brainstorm ways of sharing information. In the next session, we'll start to design and develop interventions in information sharing. The third, we'll finish our interventions and share.
